No koalas, kangaroos, wombats, or BMX Bandits. 0/10 :D
JK, that’s neat to see. Weird train horn, maybe it’s just muffled, but U.S. train horns are LOUD.

Sounds the same as horns here. I think American trains are very loud because people there are prone to taking on trains at level crossings. That never ends well.

That’s a DMU isn't it? You can hear a gearchange early on.

And yet, sadly they still try. I like the DART crossings in Dublin which block both lanes :
Most US crossings only block the “correct” lane, meaning you can drive around the gates. Which people do, with predictable results.

“How often does the train go by?”
“So often you won’t even notice it.”

There are two schools of thought about level crossing barriers and sadly no definitive answer.
Use full width barriers and people can’t dodge around them. Equally if you get stuck on the crossing and the barriers come down you’ve got problems.
Use half barriers and people can dodge around them. Equally if you get stuck on the crossing and the barriers come down you can escape (if you resolve whatever made you stop there in the first place).
Ideally you avoid level crossings but this is impractical in a built up area
and very expensive a
nywhere else.
